“Take no thought for your life…”

Luke 12: 22-30
Anxiety seems to have a place of prominence even in the lives of Christians. Perhaps that is why Jesus spent time talking to his disciples about it in this scripture.
Are there any of these issues, what we shall eat, for the body, what we shall put on, verse 22, which do not concern us each day?
In verse 23 the question, which Jesus asks regarding food and clothing, seem to still be important issues even today.
Jesus draws our attention to nature and how God provides for the needs. However, it has proven to be difficult for each generation to allow God to be our provision. Understanding with our natural mind and comprehending with our spirit Gods loving provision are two different things.
How are we to make the transition from an earth bound individual to a spiritually minded follower of Jesus Christ?
It helps to realize everything in this world is temporary, created by God for our use while we travel through this life. Even as verse 27 records Solomon was not clothed like the lilies, with their beauty, and in verse 28 we are reminded again of the temporary condition of all these beautiful things.
The important object of our life must be the kingdom of God, but we as Christian find ourselves developing anxiety. Especially when we need housing, food, clothing and the other provision of our daily lives.
We find it difficult to truth our creator God to provide our every need. Many times we find ourselves spending unnecessary time worrying about these matters, when we could be praying, praising and worship our God.
If we are to be effective witnesses in our generation, we must develop a relationship through the Holy Spirit, which allows us to rest upon the promises in God’s Word.
History records not only in the Bible, but many other volumes the experiences of men and women who have lived the supernatural life of a believer. It is good to read of these experiences and to receive a challenge to great devotion to the Kingdom of God.
George Muller, is a classic example of a man who trusted God. In his life story we are encouraged by how he reached out to God with great faith, even if we are not able to run an orphanage, and totally depend on God to provide our every need. We can become faithful men and women who rest in the promises of God’s Word, but in order to do that we must become students of the word.
We need to become more than observers, we must get involved, which will help us to defend anxiety. While we are watching God at work, in both our lives and those of our family, friends, and others it will be hard to deny the revealed power of God.
We must be different, as Jesus told His disciples in these scripture passages, the world doesn’t need more people like themselves. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, so
now is the time to make a commitment, to by total sold out to God.
The world is looking for a strong witness, especially in light of these uncertain times, but are
We love you all in Jesus Christ our Lord,
